Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to become an architect. Growing up in a small border town in Mexico, I was captivated by the idea of creating spaces that inspire and endure. That dream, however, came with its challenges - challenges that shaped who I am today. Moving to Houston on my own, navigating the complexities of being a first-generation student, and pushing through the hardships of starting from scratch taught me resilience, discipline, and strength.
My journey at the University of Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture has been more than just about academic success. It’s about the courage it took to leave my home behind and the determination to thrive in an unfamiliar environment. I've grown not only as a designer but as a person deeply connected to the idea of service and community. Balancing academic excellence with personal and financial responsibilities wasn’t easy, but it reinforced my commitment to my craft.
I created this ePortfolio to tell my story. It's a place where I can share my experiences - the challenges, the triumphs, and the work that I am proud of. It's more than just a collection of projects and accomplishments; it's a reflection of my passion for architecture, my dedication to sustainable design, and my resilience in the face of obstacles.
This ePortfolio is for several audiences: people who are interested in my work, architecture peers who share a love for design, students looking for guidance in their own journeys, and anyone curious about who I am. I hope my story can inspire others, especially those who are just starting their own paths in architecture or those who, like me, are figuring things out on their own.
My goal is to show a genuine version of myself. Beyond my projects and my work, I want people to understand the strength it took to get here. I’m proud of the person I’ve become - someone who pushes the boundaries of design while staying true to the values of community, sustainability, and education. My ambition goes beyond becoming an architect. I aspire to teach and mentor the next generation of architects, using my experiences to guide those who face the same struggles I once did.
Thank you for visiting my ePortfolio. I hope that through this platform, you’ll get a glimpse into my world, my work, and my passion for architecture.
